    Analysis

    I think this is a fair price on the Phillies, who are all but assured of a Wild Card berth but still have a chance to be the #4, #5, or #6 seed in the National League. They open the final week of the season with ace right-hander Zack Wheeler, who is searching for his 14th win of 2026. Milwaukee's lineup is batting .190 against him in 100 career at-bats. On the other side, Dustin May is 2-4 with a 5.76 road ERA this season for Milwaukee. Though I think the Brewers will do enough this week to hold off the Dodgers for NL home field advantage, the Phillies need this one more and I think they'll get it.

    Analysis

    The Phillies are at home with one of their aces on the mound tonight in Zack Wheeler, facing off against a struggling Dustin May and a Brewers team that has little to play for besides battling with the Dodgers for the #1 overall seed in the NL. The mismatch in the starting pitchers is evident with Wheeler looking like a stud of late and pitching to a 0.90 ERA in three September starts, while Dustin May is pitching on short rest and has allowed 16 runs across his last five starts. With six games left, the Phillies will turn to Zack Wheeler twice and need as many wins as possible, so I'll ride with the ace that has the hot hand right now.

    Nationals rookie LHP Jackson Kent has a 6.40 ERA through seven starts and the bullpen has a 5.26 ERA in the last two weeks. In that same span, the Tigers own a .944 OPS vs. left-handers and a .944 OPS at home. So Detroit should score. Meanwhile, the Nats looked uninterested on Monday. Drew Anderson, who has a 2.36 ERA since joining the rotation, can hold them.

    The full-game total for Cards-Bucs is only 7 with winds blowing in significantly and highs only around 60 with possible rain. St. Louis starter Andre Pallante has a 2.76 ERA in 12 road starts and allowed one run over six in his lone 2026 outing vs. Pittsburgh. Young Bucs righty Jared Jones has a 1.80 ERA in three September starts.
