Analysis

Carolina clinched the East's top seed with a shootout loss in Philly on Monday, meaning Tuesday's road RS finale is utterly meaningless so I'd expect a ton of guys out -- and a bunch were Monday, too. Simply no point in such a physical sport to play anyone of note here and risk a crushing injury. Get ready for the start of the postseason this weekend. Granted, the Isles are eliminated from playoff contention so not a ton of motivation, either, but it's the home finale.

Analysis

The Braves got shellacked Monday by Miami but also were in the tricky post-Sunday Night Baseball spot. And one bright spot was that Atlanta really hasn't had to use any key relievers in a few games (starter Chris Sale was dominant Sunday night), so in great shape in the pen. That group may not be needed too much Tuesday if Reynaldo Lopez keeps dealing with a 1.15 ERA through three starts. On the flip side, Miami's Max Meyer holds a 7-11 career mark and 5.12 ERA in his three-plus seasons in the Show. The Braves hit him around a bit in his lone start against them in 2025. The Marlins are only 2-5 away. The SL Model has Atlanta winning quite easily.

Tyler Herro sat out Friday with foot soreness and then played just 22 minutes in Sunday's rout of the Hawks. Miami was saving Herro for Tuesday's play-in game at Charlotte. Herro put up 33 points and 20 points in two meetings with the Hornets last month, going 9 of 12 from deep and 12 of 12 from the foul line combined. The Heat will need a huge game from Herro to pull off the upset, so I'm betting on Erik Spoelstra giving Herro 35-plus minutes.

Analysis

The Miami Heat have been one of the success stories of Adam Silver implementing the play-in. They went all the way to the NBA Finals just three years ago after securing the eighth seed. A season ago they won two road games in the play-in last year against Atlanta and Chicago. Now they are back in the same tenth spot, playing their third straight play-in road game. That’s not sustainable on continuing to have success. Charlotte after losing the first three matchups to the Heat, blew them out in the final meeting by thirty points. Look for the young team in the Hornets to take out the veteran Heat. Lay the number.

Analysis

I don't expect a lot of the key pieces for the penguins to be out there in their regular season finale. Most of the key cogs logged major minutes on Sunday against the Capitals but in my opinion that was a sign of respect for Ovi above all else. The price isn't nearly as good as what we had against the Wild but this price is only moving one direction in my opinion.
